There's something about a smash burger that just hits different. Those crispy, lacy edges. That perfectly seared crust. It's the kind of burger that makes you wonder why anyone would eat a thick, boring patty ever again.
The key is maximum heat, a good smash, and Mama Lou's Original Seasoning to create a flavor-packed crust that takes these burgers to the next level. Two thin patties stacked with melted cheese—that's how you do it right.
Ultimate Smash Burgers with Mama Lou's Original
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 3 tablespoons Mama Lou's Original Seasoning
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- 4 slices American cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions (for toppings)
- Your favorite burger sauce
How I Make It
Form Balls: Divide beef into 8 equal portions (about 3 oz each). Loosely form into balls—don't overwork the meat!
Heat Pan: Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over high heat until smoking hot.
Smash & Season: Place meat balls on the hot surface. Immediately smash flat with a sturdy spatula. Generously season the top with Mama Lou's Original Seasoning.
Cook: Cook for 2-3 minutes until deeply browned and crispy on the bottom. Flip, add cheese, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Build Burgers: Stack two patties per burger on toasted buns with your favorite toppings. The Mama Lou's creates an incredible crust!
One Rule I Stick To
"The key to perfect smash burgers is maximum heat and pressure when smashing. Don't press down after the initial smash! Mama Lou's Original Seasoning creates a flavor-packed crust that takes these burgers to the next level."
